The young people at Kinsale School are magic. And I am proud to submit the magic fish project on their behalf. Most of our young people at Kinsale School have predominately been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, however please do not let that fool you! Irrespective of their abilities, to their maximum potential, I have encouraged each pupil to design and create their own individual magic fish.

The school caretaker and myself made the blue water and grouted the piece, however we did no more. Some of pupils are seventeen, more are younger. Some cannot write their own name and others sit GCSEs. The fish pond that has replaced the extravagant fountain has ultimately transformed our education environment. The magic fish project is not about abilities or reasons; it has combined us altogether into a very special school with it’s very own community full of young people & helpers, of that I believe is pure brilliance.
