Caroline Gaytor – South Yorkshire

Artist: Caroline Gaytor

Caroline is a community arts practitioner with a wide experience of working with children and adults across a range of educational and informal settings.
She has a strong background in both mainstream and specialist schools working with children in primary and secondary, those with disabilities and young people in pupil referral units with behavioural and emotional issues.

Recent work has included a Sensory Mosaics exhibition, January 2013 at The Point Gallery in Doncaster, showcasing mosaics created by children with disabilities. Working with every class in Heatherwood Special School, Doncaster, Caroline created multi-sensory mosaics that were installed as part of a series of murals with participatory elements for visitors to add to, such as the three metre Octopus installation.

Caroline can devise work that is curriculum based, for example exploring colours through a rainbow mosaic series, literacy links exploring stories through drawing and mosaic such as the ‘Where’s Elmer?’ elephants and creating functional artworks such as noticeboards, based on practical consultation workshops to generate designs which are then translated into the final artworks for children to create.

I have Public Liability insurance and a current CRB check. For project enquiries, commissions and workshops please contact me via email.
